GrubHub Fall Campaign
ART DIRECTION (LAYOUTS & PHOTOSHOOT / VIDEOSHOOT),
DESIGN, concept, pre-PRODUCTION
IN-HOUSE AGENCY ROLE: ART DIRECTOR
THE CHALLENGE: Create awareness that GrubHub is the nation's leading online and mobile food ordering company dedicated to connecting hungry diners with local takeout restaurants.
THE SOLUTION: A national campaign, featuring a :30 TV ad, and various OOH executions, including train wraps, bus sides, taxi tops, subway cards, two sheets, etc., across 5 markets in the U.S., showcasing the variety of food options available on GrubHub and highlighting quirky use-case scenarios for ordering takeout. The campaign that gives diners “permission” to order delivery food, by maintaining, for example, that 3:12pm is actually the perfect time to order a hoagie. By creating playful blocks of copy that illustrate all of the happenings in a day that lead to the eventual ordering of food, we let diners know that sometimes ordering GrubHub is the perfect solution to whatever cards they’ve been dealt that day. We highlighted the sheer number of restaurants that are available from different geographic locations on billboards, and injected the brand personality by personifying the graphic food photography with little speech bubbles.
BEHIND THE SCENES: I art directed at both the OOH photoshoot and the video shoot for the :30 TV spot, as well as helped brainstorm various delivery scenarios to be featured on OOH. I designed all of the OOH materials and ensured they were print-ready.
